Finding funny ways to deal with stress may be the single greatest investment you can make in yourself, considering that we all deal with stress... the stress from relentlessly annoying co-workers, to bill collectors, perhaps maybe impending deadlines or crying babies. Or maybe you were just born stressed and are being punished for a past life by having to deal with a tremendous amount of stress at most times. But let’s hope you aren’t that guy. More likely you just need to let off some steam. I have come up with a few ideas to get you started, but please, feel free to come up with your own and make the magic happen. Tackling stress with funny antics instead of baseball bats and nuclear bombs is a much better route to take. Considering that laughter is the best medicine to begin with, you may find the stress quickly makes its way to a smile. Maybe. Just maybe. Laughter is the best medicine for stress!
1.) Take yourself to the bowling alley and bowl an entire game rolling the ball two handed between your legs backwards.
2.) Dress up as a clown and walk through the park giving away cloves of garlic or balloon animals, depending on the crowd. 3.) Throw a banana cream pie into the face of a passerby.... run at a leisurely pace. 4.) For pretty good stress relief replace your own golf balls at the driving range with exploding ones... for even greater stress relief replace others golf balls unknowingly with exploding ones. 5.) Spend and hour hello at the squirrels in the park... to add some more dramatic effect feel free to call them by co-workers’ name. 6.) Write your name in the snow...write your bosses name in the snow. 7.) Make up a mock invoice to the IRS that details the amount of time you spent on you taxes and your appropriate billing rates. Have it notarized. Drop in mailbox with a smile. 8.) Take yourself downtown with a friend, walk the streets as your friend drives next to you blasting opera. Sing along. Dress up in character if you so desire. If you are not into opera, or do not see the humor in that, no problem. Find your favorite movie soundtrack, wear appropriate costumes and enjoy! 9.) Drive to a local campsite, hide in the woods making wolf howling noises all night long. Aaaaooooooollll night long. 10.) Draw a face on a cantaloupe that resembles a particular character in life you are not so fond of. Walk to nearest parking garage roof. Drop cantaloupe. Rejoice in laughter! 11.) Punch your pillow. Kick you pillow. Bite your pillow. Chain saw your pillow. And finally drown your pillow in a basin full of marmalade.
